About Energy Compliance
Energy Compliance, Inc. helps registered entities, renewables developers, and utility compliance teams build programs that survive audits, defend findings, and meet the operational standard regulators expect.
Three lanes of work — each anchored to a real, recurring problem registered entities face every year.
NERC Reliability and CIP Compliance — from initial registration through audit cycle execution, we build and operate the program: policies, evidence inventories, RSAW narratives, internal reviews, mitigation plans, and the cadence that keeps programs defensible between audits. Coverage spans CIP, PRC, TOP, EOP, FAC, VAR, BAL, MOD for Generator Owner, Generator Operator, Transmission Owner, and Transmission Operator functions, in BES and sub-BES contexts including the Category 2 IBR framework under FERC Order 901.
Audit Defense and Enforcement Response — when a Notice of Possible Violation, self-report, or formal audit lands, the first two weeks set the tone. We lead audit defense with evidence-backed narratives, scope discipline, Data Request strategy, and mitigation plans that close root cause. We have built RSAWs that withstood audit, drafted self-reports that resolved without penalty, and turned enforcement actions into program improvements without expanding scope.
Regulatory Strategy across RTO/ISO, ERCOT, and PUCT — regulatory work does not stop at NERC. ERCOT market participation, PUCT § 25.517, NOGRR245, generator interconnection compliance, and the patchwork of RTO/ISO requirements are equally consequential. We advise on registration posture, market entry, ongoing obligations, and the strategic positioning that protects long-cycle development from regulatory surprise.
What makes Energy Compliance different: senior, in-the-room experience — the work is delivered by practitioners who have stood up programs from scratch, defended audits, and operated registered entities at scale. Integrated legal expertise — we move seamlessly between technical compliance work and legal posture when stakes warrant it. A library, not a deck — we publish substantive whitepapers because we expect clients to make informed decisions.
